Well spotted! I use both sides to make it a bit easier but I cant see why you would if you was to shave someone else

I always like to handle my kamisori shaves traditionally a well (it just seems right, considering Japanese culture). Then again, they were originally intended for head shaving, to be handled by a second party.

Wow!, that's a monster, I've honed plenty Iwasaki and Henkotsu Kamisori blades, but never seen a 10/8th before.

I saw a couple of them here in Japan. They are huge! Weight over 100 grams.
Japanese kamisori are measured in "Chogake". Most kamisori have the size 1 Chogake (about 11/16~6/8) while these Henkotsu are size 5 Chogake.

I used to have a Henkotsu although in smaller size. It was a harsh shaver no matter what stone or strop I used, so I sold it.
