No you didn't. You just helped some others out who might have one.
I just found an old Sheffield blade I have w/o scales. They were apparently broken & I took them off. I had to sand the tang down to see the maker & used my loupe & it is one I have never heard of before but the maker on the tang says: David Miller, 16 Fargate, Sheffield. It has an acid etching on the blade which is a wedge which I think says Miller No 76 Fargate in fancy writing. My Tweedale's Directory of Sheffield Cutlery Manufacturers shows they were running a warehouse from 1833-1849 in Fargate. In 1851 David Miller & Son were operating from Eldon Works in Eldon Street as a merchant, razor & spring knife manufacturer. I love this book. It is very informative. When people say they should tell everybody they are junk, they are only kidding. Apparently yours, which BTW looks very nice, is a post 1891 made straight razor since it says England on it. Before that date, none of the manufacturers had England on their razors. Thanks for the pics................very nice looking razor.
