Hey guys got this new to me straight also came with a interesting (to me at least) leather pouch/case.

I'm a leather crafter so always interested in how and why when I come across old leather items. This one does things that were unnecessary to protect the razor really so they likely did it this way to practice this particular type of sawing technique.

The razor is a grah and plumacher, weyer Solingen, from all I can find online they are a good possibility a tad rare, dare I say? Maker..

Sits flat and good both sides on the hones and all parts of the blade are getting attention on the few laps I did on the #8000 purple slate hone. It's got some small micro chips near the heel so a gentle bread knife and then up though the stones.

Blades about 21mm but going to lose at least 1/2 mm to a mm.

Any tips on cleaning the scales? can I brighten them up or is it just a clean and they will be as are?
