Solingen definitely makes it German, but without pics it's going to be difficult.

It still might have some life left and shaves to give. It just needs some TLC!

The razor has been made before 1929. On the tang it says Weyer/ Solingen, means at the time the razors was made, Weyer was an independed small town near Solingen. They simply mentioned the name Solingen on the razor because of publicity reasons. In 1929 Weyer was incorporated to Solingen. From this time it was an obligation to name Solingen first. So from 1929 on the stamp had to be Solingen- Weyer instead of Weyer/ Solingen.

Thanked: 157That's quality information thank you very much.
Beautiful is important, but when all is said and done, you will always be faithful to a good shaver while a bad one may detter you from ever trying again. Judge with your skin, not your eyes.
