On the DE side, Hoffritz marketed razors made by Merkur, so I suspect this is a Dovo straight. A rose by any other name...

Thanked: 0I just picked up a Hoffritz High Class like the one in the photo however mine is A1 Mint and shaves as well or better than my Dovo Bismarck. I'lt'l probably be on Ebay this week but if someone wants to make an offer before it's listed, write me at [email protected] and I'll send you some pictures. It's a fantastic razor.

This looks like it came from the day when Hoffritz was still a high quality retailer. It's shops used to import the best quality steel goods from West Germany. A lunch time trip was like going to the candy store.

I got one from the early 80's that is actually my first straight. Tis the one that got me started. Cracked ice scales and still in mint shape and ooh and shaves very nicely. I am going to hand it down to my 16 year old boy when he starts shaving regularly.

I bought one of the plain white handled ones from Lynn that he mentions in this thread. It's a great shaver just as Lynn said it would be. Thanks again, Lynn.
