Thanked: 9Yah, same here on the MOP one. I wouldn't expect much if anything...
The Whistle - are absolutely sure that's what the brand is? It looks suspiciously close to a Clauss razor, and also one other brand... I think this would be the better shaver, with or without the patina.
Good luck

Thanked: 9Lol - that's the other brand I was talking about.
I have one and it's an absolutely phenomenal shaver, 10+/10!
Cheers

i haven't heard lynn interested in cleaning up razors, but it doesn't hurt to ask. you may have luck with Joe Chandler, but he may be quite bussy. Not sure if any of the other honers (heavyduty, JoshEarl) would be interested in cleaning it up for you either. You aren't interested in giving it a try yourself?

Joe Chandler and Jason (Toxik) would be the first people to come to mind when it comes to full restos.

I did not succeed with my first attempts at honing because I also thought that Lynn's 20/20 pyramid was "aggressive" enough to turn a dull razor shave ready. Maybe this works for him, but it is not very aggressive in my experience and was nowhere near enough to get my first antique shop razors shave ready. If I get a dull razor (with no issues like chipping or frowning) off of eBay or from a junk shop I almost always need to do at least 100 passes (usually more) on the 4K side of the Norton to get through the oxidized steel and into the good steel and to set a decent bevel before polishing it to a shave ready edge.
