Twenty pages for thirty razors means we have a bunch of comment to catch up on. I think we should have a minimum of 1 page per razor in order to maintain our reputation as nonpareil commentators and debators par excellence.

    Gentlemen, start your keyboards!

    Thanks for bearing with us.

    Lynn,

Can't we Europeans get the razor sent to us directly from Italy? That will save us the customs charges. Moreover, if the razor gets sent to us from outside the EU it attracts 21% value added tax that I have to pay to the postman before he hands it over to me, unless of course you put a false lower value on the package, in which case the razor is not insured for its real value. I'd rather pay that 21% + the customs charges you pay to import it into the USA to you in support of SRP! On a USD 300 razor that is USD 62 VAT!!

    Just a thought.

You have a point that there might be some savings on shipping costs, but I'll bet the Maestro is offering a great price (in part) because he's able to do one shipment on all the razors.

Moreover, the Maestro gets to deduct the 20% Italian VAT on all the razors when he are ships to Lynn, so there's no real savings except to Europeans whose VAT rates are above 20%.

EDIT: in Kees' case, the VAT savings would only be USD 2 since the Maestro would have to add USD 60 (the 20% Italian VAT) to the price if he shipped within the EU.

Aha! We find that complexities (and taxes) abound. Were only the rest of life as smooth as the shave.

Page 22 guys. we're getting there - one page per razor.

Thanks Steve, you're right. I didn't know that.

    Isaac,

From my perspective as one who doesn't win door prizes and who always comes up to the intersection greeting the red light, I can only wish the rest of the anxious the best of luck. My hope is that I'll be able to recognize the names of the winners as those who are among the stalwarts of the SRP group.

Ya'll will have to let us know how the marvelous razor shaves with the SRP QED soap.
