I agree Mike. Price will be the biggest point for most. Myself included. Your last idea was perfect- 7/8 spanish point, ATS, maestro's choice scales

I'd love to see what Maestro Livi would come up with for us...
also if we can keep the price below $400 it would be an excellent opportunity for many of us to try a really high quality razor.

I would hope we would see the price come in closer to the $200 - $250.00 mark. It would be a big stretch for a lot of us at that price.

Don't get me wrong here, I want a Maestro as much as the next guy. I have heard however from guys who have tried both the highest end razors and the antique shop specials that there is really a fine line of difference in shave quality between those hand forged expensive razors of today and quality steel of the old days. Basically, they say that you can get an equally good shave from both. With that being said, I agree with Kenrup in terms of the price guys are hoping for. I cannot and maybe will not (out of principal) buy a $400+ razor. I don't have that kind of cash. A Maestro being available for $200 would let guys who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford it try out the fancy craftsmanship and enjoy a luxury razor.

It's a very nice razor, how would you rate it?
what kind of spacer does it have? and I'm curious what is holding it together, I really like the look...

    Garry would know best,
but I believe it is a one piece scale. No spacer needed.

Or it could be the strong magnetic field generated by ATS steel

I think Kenrup and Philadelph has a good point here, it should be in a price range that will allow most of the forum members to get in on the buy, personally i think I may have a limit at around $300 over that and I might have to consider it a little more...

The razors on the SRD site are still good. The prices however are not. I am going to be removing all the pricing and putting in a call for pricing because the Euro has gone up so much.

We should still be able to come up with something good for the group buy in any case. I am waiting to hear from the Maestro as we speak. I'm trying to be able to get him to make as many as possible so that as many of you will be able to get one as possible.

    Thanks!

    Lynn
