I got the same... here's classic shaving's response
Hi Michael,
Sorry it has taken so long to respond to your email. We did give you a call yesterday, but were only able to leave a message.
The RA # for the return of the razor is XXX. Please write this number on the outside of the box before shipping. We will send you an inspected replacement of the razor.
Thank you for your patience and patronage,
Beverly - Customer Service Team
For less $$ I could have bought one of traveller's razors, and known exactly what I was getting.
I'm definitely losing interest in Thiers Issard razors.
I think I'm going to ask for a refund, and put the money towards a Livi or a Williams.

This is a common problem with TI,they have had QA problems for as long as I have been buying their new razors. If you buy your Ti razors from the Laguiole site(in Theires France) they will be better quality, but will cost you more. They must ship all the crap to the US..........regards Gary

Is this an exclusive TI problem, or are there equally bad stories about Dovo's?
on the same note how about Zowada, Livi, or Williams anybody ever have a problem with one of their razors?

Thanked: 44I would. TI's are supposed to be better than dovos for fit and finish but I am not impressed by either. Ask robert about his s30v in micarta for an awesome razor at a bargain price.

I have about 10 TI's and probably 5 of them have crooked pins or off centered pins including the new Silverwing LE. TI has had this QC problem for years now and I don't think it is getting any better. As a matter of fact my TI damascus is probably the worst of the bunch. The pins are so off centered its a miracle the razor closes evenly. Not only that the scales on that one are misaligned by about a mm. And thats a razor that sells for almost $800. The fact is if you want perfection on the blade TIs are great but otherwise they are sorry.

That's just plain wrong. If my new TI shows up in good shape, I'll count myself lucky. That will be the end of my TI purchases.

The one I got was perfectly pinned, and aligned, but the blade was messed up.
and that will be my last attempt at purchasing a TI.

Mike, my first and only Dovo (5/8 special- very popular razor) was from classicshaving and had bent pins like I couldn't believe! At the time I didn't even think of asking them about it. Just thought it wasn't important. I have since repinned it, and although I reeeeally want a Dovo Berg. Lowe, I doubt I'll ever chance that.
Get your money back for a nicer razor.
