I have an 1840's Tally-Ho that's bit more humpbacked then the one pictured (http://www.theinvisibleedge.co.uk/re...omerazors.html) but I also have a George Wostenholm with the same phrase and running fox on the tang - maybe they secured it when Fenney went out of business but it's the only one I've evr seen.

From what I understood, the Fenney's running fox was taken by Bingham ("Late Fenney Bingham" before, "Bingham" later).

Damn Dewy, now you've done it. You gave away another secret! I have several and am always on the lookout for others in good shape. They are one of the very few razors you can definately put a start and stop time on for production.

Man! A lot to read there! Outstanding.
I have a frameback with some of that going on.

Thanked: 5That frameback is killer. Any ideas where I might be able to establish a value? I know that I have never seen another like it.

I have just a handful of them. One beautiful one with a nice spine on it but someone put wood scales on it. I'll be putting old horn scales back on it or since it is so nice looking, I might put new scales on it. Here's one I'm going to put back in vintage horn soon I hope.
This is the one with the nice spine work & it says American Classic in the ground out areas.
Frederick Fenney was apprenticed in 1813 & became a razor manufacturer in 1822. He was granted the Tally-Ho with the running fox trademark in 1833. He had displays of beautiful razors at the Great Exhibition in 1851 including one of MOP. He died the following year in 1852. Charles Thomas Bingham then bought the Tally-Ho rights but then in 1863 he sold the Tally-Ho Works & the running fox then went to George Wostenholm.
Here is a pre-1833 Fred Fenney razor I have with a nice smile.
