    Default Tuf-Glide question

    Hello,

I recently bought some Tuf-Glide, with the hope of easing my mind by minimizing my chances of rusty razors. Upon getting the stuff, however, I read on the packaging that one should avoid its coming into contact with skin...hmmm...

So I was wondering whether there's anyone who can advise me, preferably from experience, on whether Tuf-Glide can be used on 'working' razors without too much hassle (e.g. without needing to wash the stuff off and then reapply it everytime) and not just on ones that are in storage.

Thanks in advance for any advice

    Default tuff glide

I thought this product was to be used when displaying a razor, or not using it for a period of time. I do, however, apply this to the pivot pin area

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was beginning to fear...

IF YOU LIVE IN A HIGH HUMIDITY AREA, PERHAPS A PRODUCT CALLED 'STEROIL' CAN BE USED. THIS IS ALSO SOLD MY CLASSIC SAVING.

just spray them down with clippersol and that should take care of it. I use it one or twice a week and no problems

It's not really particularly humid where I'm at, but I've had a couple of razors develop blotches which has made me want to pull out the big guns

I'll look that stuff up, Doc - cheers.

I use Tuf-Glide on my razors. I apply it with a cotton make applicator and let it haze. I then buff it off. You don't want in contact with your skin when it is wet from the bottle. It works great on my razors. I don't get any stain on them at all. I very much an advocate for using it.

Humidity concerns me, because it gets over 90% humid through most of the summer round these parts.

I'll look into those things, but I can tell you that a soft cloth helps prevent brass from tarnishing. (Wrapping it up in said cloth.)

Aha, light is dawning in my mind ... so it's OK to put it on working razors and then use those razors, but only once the stuff has dried...

Looks like my money wasn't wasted after all - cheers Kenrup
