Thanked: 4942What Would Your Custom Look Like
If you could design a custom with any materials out there for both blade and handles along with the shape of both, what would your razor be made of and look like?

Sorry PapaBull for the stealing of your photo however, mine would look something like this with the exception that I'd want a Spanish Point thrown in. This is in my opinion one of the greatest looking razors I've ever seen or made. Whoever ended up with this masterpiece...I'm in awe. Great work...maybe one day I'll get one done.

Mine should be here in the next 2/3 weeks.......
I am generally looking for a variety. I look for something I do not have. Here are some of the overall attributes
1. Size must be tween 7/8 - 6/8 . I plan on using anything bigger is just a show piece. Anything smaller feels like a tooth pick for a custom
2. Overall shape and profile of a blade
3. Type of steel
4. Grind
5. Durable, attractive and a natural material for scales that balances the blade.Last edited by Amyn; 03-11-2008 at 05:54 PM.

Thanked: 43Sketches
Blade
- Anodized/colored damascus
- Mirror, brushed and mat finished metal combined
- Holes in the blade & tang
-
Scales
- Lapis Lazuli stone inlay
- Rusted with lacquer finish
- 3D carving effects
- Mosaic of stones

Here are some scans from some quick sketches that I made a few months ago when I got some head spins (got much more but ca't find them)
But since I have no forging, metal and wood working skills I'll keep on dreaming I guess?

- 6/8 - 7/8 Damascus blade. maybe a little more radical than Lynn's above (very nice BTW).
- custom ornate beveling on spine and tang.
- some sort of artwork etched on the belly, something hardcore! a mural.
- scales. i have never seen this before, i'm not even sure if it could be done. i want black with white lines, marble. maybe black granite. but definitely stone! it would be heavy, but i'm a huge guy with huge hands and that's the appeal.
- the pins would be white gold or high quality silver. i might settle for titanium, maybe.
- the spacer would be of the same material as the blade with matching notches from the spine and tang to finish it off.
who knows, maybe some one here would be up for the challenge. i would love to see this beast come to fruition!

Thanked: 1Lynn, I am in love with the damascus Maestro with clear scales featured in your video.
My gf is very fussy and even she agrees that razor is strinkingly beautiful. I struggle to improve on that, although I also like the abalone handles with the holes in.

O.K. I spent a few minutes and put down a quicky version of what I would love to have. Its not perfect, but I think it gets the idea across.
Ebony scales with enameled flag insert. Damascus blade( not sure on the pattern.) Silver pins. Some file work on the spine and grip area.
HERE IS THE FULL SIZE VERSION

I'm a pretty simple guy so I like kind of plain boring things. Nothing fancy really maybe a 6/8s or 7/8s spanish point damascus. Very plain tastefully done Elephant Ivory Scales. There is no material like Elephant ivory in looks and feel. Legal stuff of course.
