Thanked: 586Jimps? Who Needs 'Em?
I happen to like razors with jimps. I like the grip better. You?
Do you believe on new razors they are really hand filed?

definitely gotta have 'em. I have one razor without them, and it is very slippery

I don't see a difference while handling it. So for me it's aesthetics.

i don't like them. i don't feel a difference when holding the razor so functionality isn't there for me.
and for restoration!! jimps are the worst part. so very annoying trying to get down inbetween them to sand/polish/clean. hate them
jimps

Thanked: 84Don't mind, my Genco has none, Mr Watts has upper and lower jimps, both fine.

I can take 'em or leave 'em but I think they have a tendency to hold grime. Most of my faves are jimpless.

Don't need them...but I like them anyway.

I prefer both upper and lower jimps as they prevent slippage. However, I would not pass up a good blade that does not have them.

Thanked: 22Thats a good question. I have a few to restore that have jimps and I am thinking of just filing them off rather than going through the pain of trying to shine them up.
