Ken, you are always a wealth of information. Is there a catalog or handbook that gives descriptions like this and price values? It would sure help on some of those ebay and flea market finds.

    Thanks,

I have a Dovo 5/8 Pearlex and love it!

BTW, I am offended by certain letters of the alphabet.

Please remove all vowels from your post.

    Thanks!

    Awe shucks,
I do use the collectors guide but I find it very inadequate. I'm a former history teacher and I'm a history buff. I just seem to remember these things when I bump into therm. My wife hates how I remember her birthday, it's the day befor D-day on Normandy in WWII. Oh, ya, but her birthday is a MUCH later year!

That’s a fine blade you got there... been looking for such a blade at a bargain price for some time now... a long sometime.

At that price… is not a bargain... it’s a steal!!!

Have you honed out that nick in the blade yet?

If you have, how long did it take and what grit stones did you use?

I just asking because I went on a low-end ebay buying jag and a couple of them had a "bug bite" in them so I'm going to be taping spines in the near future!

No I haven't and I made things with the blade worse when I tried to sterilize it in a 50/50 bleach/water solution for about 7-10 minutes. I guess what has happened along the spine would be called pitting, but it looked like the spine was taking a crap in the bleach when I went to check it. I have no idea what could've caused this (obviously the bleach) or why (I guess I really just don't know why). I plan to send it to Lynn soon and see what he thinks I can do with the spine and the edge and how much it should cost to bring it back to beauty and function. I'll post pics eventually, but I'm too lazy at the moment.
