    Default Red Imp

What is the general opinion of the # 133 red imp
Was this a quality razor sold by case, does anyone own one and use it
as a daily razor or in a rotation. I am pondering buying one that has never been honed and looks
and looks to be in real good shape. The person said he bought it as a teenager and stuck it in a drawer and never used it..
    Any info......anyone??

If the memory in the brain is working correctly the #133 is the wedge and the #132 is the hollow, whichever way it is these are both very high quality steel... I shave regularly with the hollow and it remains in my top 14 rotation.... I am not a big wedge fan personally but I would imagine that the steel is the same in both....

It's actually the other way around, the 133 being hollow and the 132 being the wedge. I've never used the 133, but I do have a 132 that I love. They are high quality steel, and also have a reputation for being rather hard. As such, I would imagine that the 133 would be a rather rigid full hollow.

I have a full hollow Case Temperite on the way, and, since it's another Case full hollow, I would assume it is similar to the 133. I'll let you know how she is when she arrives.

I'm not sure if Case made three pin versions, but I'm pretty sure that all the Morris Red Imps have three pins. I don't have any experience with the Morris razors, but I hear they are just as good (if not a little better) than those made by Case.

Hi back,,,,,(glad to here the razor is doing it's job) and yes the Morris version is a very good razor in itself..... Either one will make a great addition to any collection... However the Morris should be less on price only because of the popularity of the Case name.....

I have the 133 and its an outstanding razor. The only thing I find is the spike has a slight flare out to it and you need to really mind that spike more so that with other spikes.

I have a Morris Imp 133, and can vouch for it's shaving quality. Fantastic shave and a cool little devil on the tang. What's not to like?

As an update, I got a loner 133 from Nelson, and it is a fantastic shaver. You can feel the flex and you get good feedback, as expected from a full hollow, but it feels stiffer than other full hollows that I've used.

Also, as noted, be careful with the spike. It does extend past the end of the spine, making it a real "spike" and not a square point.
