    Default "Barber's Special"

    I am now owner of this beautiful razor. Blade 6/8, Sheffield steel - nice=) Need help. I can't find, when approximately was this rasor done?

    That's going to be a tough one. I may be wrong, as I am still a greenhorn, but there were a lot of varieties of "barber's special"s floating around. The date and origin may just be a mystery. However, it looks like a real dandy. My "ladwig's special" from the milwaukee barber supply is one of my top shavers.

    I'd say 1900 or a little later. It has all characterstics of a modern razor, jimps, round point, full hollow ground, but the celluloid scales keep it from being later than 1950.

    Just my guess.
