Genuine Razors
From the results these razors seem to be genuine. Joseph Elliot's must have contracted out to make razors for other brands. The one simply stamped ENGLAND also shaves well. Business is business.

Thanked: 3164No, it's genuine - it is the use of the apostrophe to indicate possession, ie: Joseph Elliot makes his own silver steel razors, hence Joseph Elliot's Silver Steel Razor. The seller has simply misread the mark - you can see it if you study the listing pic closely.
Regards,
Neil

Thanked: 174Timberr .............
I think the middle dog is a fake. Box him up and send him over to the UK and he can live with the rest of us mongrels. Lovely looking animals I'm sure they give you great pleasure. Remind me of some pets I had in the past and miss greatly.
As for fake razors. I've seen some Dorko's that made me raise my eyes. But to be honest, it's a little difficult to fake 100 years of rust. Although having seen the Thai copies of just about anything, you do have to be cautious. Those guys will fake anything from watches to clothing to restaurants and even your sex.
It's more of a problem to those who are new to the game. Like many things in life, let the buyer beware.

Stampings, Symbols, Etchings
I am just not that familiar with qualifying marks of genuine articles among razors. Like you say, fakes and knockoffs of nearly everything abound all around us these days. I thought I had been faked with Elliot's.
Has anyone posted a thread about straight razor manufacturers' tang marks? There are several cutler and edged weapon trade marks lists links but nothing specific to razors that I have seen. Most established cutlers at one time or another made razors (Boker, Case, Robeson and Henckels among many).
Some German stampings are downright artistic (Engelswerk, ERN, and others). The Sheffield Makers' appear almost Masonic or cryptic, some even resemble hex signs...It would really be interesting to know the why of, and the history of these stamped symbols.
How about someone starting a thread: UNIQUE MARKS AND BLADE ETCHINGS. Those "Celebrated" claims and utility slogans impart some nifty wisdon. The Royal Warrants attach historical significance in a refined manner and commemorative scenes of events and objects really yield views of the past.
Some day I shall have more unique razors for show & tell. Viva RAD! A good excuse for collecting more razors! Merry Christmas All, Robert
