Fake Name- Brand Razors
Have any of you bought or seen fake Wade & Bush, Joseph Elliot, Dovo, Wostenholm, or other familiar brand razors copied by Paki or other counterfeiters? Please list them to protect the unwary. False hopes are hard to repair if someone buys a fake brand razor. Ebay would be a good place to hawk them. Sometimes the stampings seem too fresh to be genuine; however, I have seen partial stampings on very authentic razors.

I know in the many times I've been to Thailand they now sell counterfeit fountain pens .. eg . Mont Blanc etcetc ..
It comes as no surprise really ..
My general rule on ebay .. if it's it's cheap and your in doubt let it go

A good question. I have a couple of razors on the way, one of which I am curious about. I have seen the 'Case Bros' stamp on quite a few. Can anybody confirm whether the razor pictured below is authentic? It does have the 'Tested XX' stamp on the spine.

I'm in no way an expert .. But I believe the fakes that were being refered to were typical brands like Dovo etc .. Back in the day many top quality razors were made in the US .. I'd put a $ on your razor being a fine example of American craftsmanship ..
There was a razor manufactures ref: at some point in time on the site .. I'm just noe sure where tho ..
Enjoy your razor when it arrives I'm sure it'll be the genuine article

If you visit this link:
Kinfolks Incorporated - Knives of Quality and Distinction
It talks about the Men in the Case Family. Reading thru this page it would seem that you have a early and authentic Case razor. (IMHO YMMV)

Razor Fakes
Take a quick look at item 230292430225 on ebay. Is this a fake with a name Joseph Elliot'e (instead of Elliot's) or is this a misread stamping by the seller? Lately there have been some very new-looking Joseph Elliot's Silver Steel razors being sold for low prices. I am thinking Joseph Elliot's is a good razor, and seem to expect higher prices for them if they are for real.
Oh, my dogs are unknown breed to me. They are wearing some "Bubba" false teeth. I love to see them on my desktop also. They are happy and do not care about all this nervous activity in the world presently. They are sincere and like me without conditions. Enjoy their company. They are fun dogs.Last edited by timberrr59; 09-24-2008 at 06:49 PM. Reason: spelling
