Thanked: 328Razor Questions From The Ether
Hi guys,
I had a really nice couple contact me about some old razors that the husband had inherited.. But they didn't really know how to get in here and post pictures of them.. So I'm doing it for them.. If you guys can give them some feedback on the razors if you recognize any of them. I'm sure they'd appreciate it..
Thanks
David
P.S. Here were their descriptions
1-This is a US Army straight razor with black handle
2-This razor has a leaf design with yellow background on handle, it says Solingen Germany
3-This is a green handled razor with the word LADISH on handle-it says George W. Korn Little Valley NY
4-The Lucky Lindy razor with 4 bi-planes in gold -dubl duck Bresduck satin edge Solingen Germany
5-This is a big razor-amber colored-Wade and Butcher Sheffield Diamond Edge
Hopefully the pictures will help

Diamond edges are typically rather sought after; they don't seem to pop up for sale on ebay or our classifieds too often. Scales appear to be blonde horn.
If the blade was to be cleaned up a bit (without removing the "frosting" near the edge), it should turn out to be a great shaver and would fetch a pretty good price.

I can comment on the razors except that the 'Lucky Lindy' looks very similar to the Blue Jinx I posted in razor clubs/Those Daffy Ducks, page 3. The Lucky Lindy is a very nice looking razor.

Thanked: 0I am new to the straight razor world. Thanks to David for posting our razors. We are looking for information about them. I do not know what scales are and I do not know what frosting is. Also, all of the razors are in cases, with the exception being the US Army razor. What is really sad, is my mother-in-law took approximately 15 straight razors to the local antique shop, and only got a few dollars for them. My husband isn't sure, at this time if he is interested in selling them.

Thanked: 416I dont recognize many of these razors. Of course the Double Ducks are always sought after and Wades are usually great razors as well. but I am retired army and if you should ever decide to part with them please drop me a pm as I would really be interested in the army razor.
