Thanked: 335Where have all the razors gone?
I'm surpassing curious about the stock of edged shaving tools. If you look at the webpages of our suppliers: Vintage, Classic, SRD, you see that essentially there are no 6/8 or 7/8 razors available - the Shaving Shop seems to be the exception: John Crowley seems to have a good stock of the larger sizes. I assume that DOVO and Thiers Issard continue to make razors of all sizes, but for the most part only 5/8 razors seem to be available. What's happening with the production of larger sizes? Are they being snapped up so quickly by the European market that none make it here to the US? Or is the unanticipated US demand so great that delivery schedules may never be realistically filled?
What's the word on the street about the rumored Spyderco entry into the straight razor market?

Could it be that to keep the prices down they are ordering the smaller blades? Things are getting tough out there.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I would bet its the standard demand / supply connection. Straight razor shaving is becoming "in" again. The demand is rising faster than the supply, ergo the prices are rising....
BTW I just ordered a 7/8 Spanish point directly from Böker in Germany. BAD case of RAD.

As far as I am aware Dovo do not list any razor above 6/8 in their catalogue .
