Thanked: 0Eagle clutching a snake logo on tang?
Hi
Can anyone help me identify an eagle clutching a snake on the tang of my razor? Is it a manufacturers make/logo? Also what does the numbers mean? Is it the year made or part of the manufacturers stamp? The razor is a hamburg ring - try me.....

Its a symbol found on Mexican coins! Maybe these razors were marketed for Mexico!?

Here's a bad phonecamera shot of the eagle on my ERN Blue Steel. The eagle's wing has both curved and straight elements while yours is a continuous curve. Still very similar.

The illegible text to the left of the eagle is:
C. Friedr. Ern
Wald-Germany
Highest Award
I don't know if "Highest Award" has anything to do with the eagle, but it's an idea.
