I've been using a DE razor for the last 6 months and was interested in making the switch to a straight. I was helping a friend clean out her parent's house after her mother passed, and found this straight sitting in the bedside cabinet. She let me keep it, but I'd like some info on it before I send it off to Lynn for honing.

The box is cardboard wrapped in black paper with gold print on the top that reads 'Hollow Ground Razor' across the length and 'Made in Germany Solingen' across one end. The razor itself appears to have scales made of marbled yellow and red plastic. The 7/8 blade is hollow ground, has a rounded edge, and 'Finest Magnetic Steel' printed across the front of it. The tang says 'Solingen Made in Germany' on one side and 1400 OMOR on the other.

Sorry for the quality of the pics... All I had was my cell phone available and apparently it was on the smallest setting. I can look for my camera to get bigger/better pics later if need be.

Anyone have any idea what I have and if it's worth getting shave ready?

Thanks in advance!
