Straight razor saves life of Mother and Child.... again
I know that everyone is getting so sick of seeing how straight razors are saving lives all the time, but I thought I'd just post one more....
WKYC.com | Cleveland, OH | Truck driver uses razor to save mother, child from wrecked SUV
I'm going to keep a straight razor in my pocket from now on, right beside my CPM-D2 Kershaw Leek. Any razor restorers out there want to put a pocket clip on my boker?
hehehe

Thanked: 39That truck driver must have thought afterwards: "why did I bring my most precious and expensive razor with me today"
Let's hope it wasn't one of those he used to cut the safety belt. But anyway it did save a life so it was worth it anyway.

Razor Carry Pouches
I feel good about always having a straight razor in a pocket. Check out my Thread in THE WORKSHOP FORUM titled Razor Carry Pouches. You never know when a razor is needed or wanted. Mine are mostly for show & tell and for trade/sale, bribes, etc. One never knows what might happen... Seatbelts, surgery, self defense, or whatever. Merry Christmas and thanks for the story, Robert

I don't get it.
Sure, a wedge or half hollow would make a reasonable knife, but they are ****ty weapons.
And putting clips on them is not that good an idea, because the scales would likely deform or crack under tension or pressure in your pocket.
Especially in situations where someone's life could depend on it, I'd want my knife to be dependable instead of fancy, and I'd carry a tactical folder like my spyderco. It's durable, has a non-slip handle, can be opened with 1 hand, and locks when open.
There are enough disadvantages to razros as knives that I really wouldn't carry one
1) it can open in your pocket... nuff said
2) it doesn't lock open
3) can't clip on. if you mount a clip, it is possible for the scales to breal or crack. See (1)
4) when closed, the tang could poke in uncomfortable places
I belive in using the right tool for the job. And straights are not it for cases like this.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 84I think your thinking a bit too deeply about it all
They might be hopeless weapons but I would definatly have brown underpants if someone started waving one at me with a mad glint in their eye
They were commonly used in Glasgow as weapons in the 50's or so I've heard! Frightening!!
