Yep, start dancing. I sold one just about identical to that one for $95.00. And that was a deal.

Nope. Just a 4 week old baby that seems to be part magician. She can make chunks of time just disappear.
My plans were to send it out to get cleaned up by KenRup. He's done work on my Shumate and raised it from the dead. He'll get that looking 50 years younger with a wicked sharp edge in just a few days.
If you ever want to sell it, give me first dibs

I wouldn't consider it a good deal necessarily... unless you like a super good shaver, in nearly mint condition, with super cool manufacturer case.
Also, screw you! What a deal!
I have one like that and I love it. It's up there with the best.

The razor arrived today. The above pictures pretty accurately show the condition it's in. There is some shallow pitting on the back side of the blade, but luckily none on the lettering side.
Concerning the lettering... I'd really like to clean up the lettering side of the blade. There's a bit of light surface rust (it looks like a rusty fingerprint) which does overlap a bit into the lettering. Is it worth risking it to use 2k grit sand paper, or should I just take the scales off, put it in the walnut media, and let it run for a few days? I kinda hate to take the scales off of it, really, but if that's going to be the best way... I'm also concerned that the walnut media might remove the multicolored wash on the tang, too. The tang on this razor is really cool.

Is the rust too deep for MAAS? I agree with you, if you don't need to pull the pin don't. Things good go bad in a hurry. I've had success with MAAS and Simichrome. I have the same blade waiting for a set of new scales. The etching is deep enough that I will buff it with chromium oxide on my medium wheel. The coloring on the tang is bluing. On mine, I will re-blue it during its restoration.

Thanks, Ken, I think I'll just stick with MAAS. Overall, it's in such great shape that it's just not worth the risk to the letters going for perfection. It'll still be really close.
Thanks again for the advice!

I shaved with my 1st "Shuredge" yesterday. I am absolutely blown away by what a great shave it gave me. It's right up there with the Robert Williams and M.L. !!
I paid more than three times what you did, and that's still a great deal. - Plus, it wasn't in as good of condition as yours.
Yea, you got the deal of the century on that auction.
