Thanks Steve!
I'm planning on shaving with mine today.
Just wiping the blade down with WD-40 cleaned it up to about 98%. Turns out all the crap was just barely stuck to the surface.
What really blows me away is that there is zero (seriously) hone wear. The heel of the blade is still very sharp. The rest.. not so much. But they must have done something to either protect the spine during it's initial honing at the factory, or they did the "spine lift" thing. The owner must have used it until it wasn't sharp anymore, then put it in it's case and forgot about it, hence the "rusty fingerprint".

Shuredge in Rotation
You prompted me to get and work up a Shuredge. I am really satisfied with the results. Mine is a full hollow grind which at first seemed too thin. As I get used to the "sing" and good shaves, all is well. I took an extra amount of time polishing the edge with the dark blue Escher and did some really prolonged stropping. The Robeson responded well to that treatment. It is in the rotation and sometimes I just skip to its turn.
