Yeah I know I might get burned on ebay, but then again you need to gamble some time.
But I belive these might be all good ones I restored them. Thats what I am hoping for though.

Ok or did I do a lousy buy on this one?
    It looks restorable I think.
    Holy crap!
Just had my first shave with this razor. Now I know there are razors and there are razors! This was my best one sofar. Makes the other look like butter knifes!

Gonna be fun to see how the other ones I bought work out. But this one is a keeper for sure!

Nice buy on the Clauss & Geneva, was going to bid for it myself, but found a Solingen silversteel one instead, unknown brand. Also, pictures were blurry. Let me know if I need to shoot myself.

The one that sold for $380 has original box, original scales, in perfect condition as far as I can tell. Very little spine wear. So yeah, collectors will pay $100's for that piece. Old pitted razors with water stains and questionable scales are for restorers and people who want a deal.

Time to load the gun man.
Got the razors today, they where in excelent shape! The claus needs some polishing and they both need to be honed ofcourse. But the Geneva where in almost perfect shape! The scales where tight and it was centered real good. Will snap a few pics of them later today. The Geneva looks almost like it has not been used. A few scratches on the blad but nothing much.

The claus scales where a little loose but nothing to dangerous.

    My best deal sofar.

There was a post by GSsixgun about a swiss cheese, rust edge. How the edge would hold for a while then, fall away ad nosium. Just be on the look out.

    Good steals.

    Default Something to watch...

Something else to watch with hollow grounds on ebay is the shoulder, I believe the term is. I got burned on that twice.

Basically the edge gets brought up in to the fat bit at the heel of the blade. There may be a trick for honing the razor despite this, but I haven't found it. The toe gets nice and sharp but the sharpness fades until about the mid point where it radically does downhill until you get to the heel and it's as dull as a butter knife.

    I love your W&B Special!

Disclosure: I have a soft spot for Wade & Butcher razors. It was the only straight razor brand I could name when I shaved with DEs, I thought they were that cool. Now that that's out of the way...

I admit to being an avid dumpster-diver on eBay for abused W&Bs. When trying to learn to hone last fall, I leaned toward hobo-class eBay W&Bs that nobody else bid on. The best deal I ever got was two for $8 - shipped, no less- via BIN. I didn't buy any with large chips or broken scales, but any other flaw was fair game - severe rust and pitting, machine-gun fleabites, mismatched scales, cracked scales, "creative" grinding, visible small chips.

Every last one of them cleaned up, honed up, and were good to superb shavers, with some effort. W&B razors just seem to want to do right. I'd take a big chance on a W&B-branded razor that I wouldn't take on many others. OK, maybe a heavy old Greaves or Rodgers....
