Default Metal-scaled razors other than Wapis?

I was wondering if there were any other razors that were sold with stainless steel scales other than Wapis.

I found out that my late maternal grandfather used to shave with a straight, but my grandmother has no idea where it is, or if it's even around at all anymore.

My mom remembers the razor from when she was a kid, and said that she remembers it having silver metal scales (I assume stainless). This would have been back in the 50's-60's. He spent some time in the armed services stationed in Germany, so it's possible that he picked it up in Europe rather than here in the States.

Does anyone know of any other razors like this, from that time frame, other than the Wapis? I'd like to find one similar to what he had. Were the Wapis widely available back then, or were they mostly stuck behind the iron curtain?

    Thanks!

Reading the description, it seems doubtful that he would be able to use such a razor as his daily shaver, which my grandmother has said gave him an unbelievably smooth shave.

    Interesting item, though!

There are some Geisen/Forshoff (sp?) razors at ShavingShop.com with stainless steel scales.

Apparently there are C.V. Heljestrands with metal scales too. This one was auctioned recently. I have only the picture and the description ("Marked C.V.Heljestrand Eskilstuna Sweden on one side and 923F on the other. Metal handles") to go by though.Name: CVH metal scales.jpg

I know it's not what you are really asking about, but a few custom makers work with titanium and other metals for scales. Frank Warner makes his "Industrial" with titanium scales.
And I know when I discussed my custom with Robert Williams, titanium was an option.

Actually, I'm trying to narrow down the possibilities of what he actually used, since there doesn't seem to be a lot of vintage straights out there with metal scales from the factory, I am hoping I can narrow down the field significantly.

Thiers-Issard also makes razors with stainless steel scales. I have two, a custom LeGrelot 6/8, 3/4 full hollow that was ordered through the above-mentioned Martin at raspur.de (by the member I bought it from) and a model called Taos that is available as we speak from the Art of Shaving website.
