Yeah I got into DE shaving over there too. I don't go there anymore because I don''t like the atmosphere. Watch what you say and all of that. I couldn't believe it when I found out he had banned Lynn, Don, Papa Bull and others. As John said it is kind of a status symbol only it is a lot more then two. As you know John the water is fine over here.

I am not a B&B lover either, but was this the post you were referring to, John? I did not see any posts by Joel, just you lashing out at a bunch of posters, mainly TBS who by the way is a mod here.

In all fairness, it might be worth reading, before folks join the bashing bandwagon.

Ray, remember the hub bub when Leisure guy got banned ? I noticed that after they announced the banning and it generated all of that controversy they began to "disappear" members. One friend of mine PMed me and told me he had been banned for life. He disagreed with a mod ........ not even Joel and he was history. It never made the forum. That is when I started coming around here.

I remember, Jimmy. That, and Mike, and more recently, RW. I feel the same.

Not that I am doubting that there may have been something behind the scenes in this case too, but I just figured people should objectively see for themselves before the bashing went on, especially since most of the posters there, Kees, TBS, Richard, Telly and even Chris are/were also regulars here.

As posted above, Lynn had already made his opinion clear about these threads in the past, so out of respect, this is the last I will asy about this.

After giving the benefit of the doubt over there for a long time, I finally decided I no longer wanted to be part of that community. I left on my own and haven't been back there in a year or more. Who wants to see that kind of nonesense?

There are some good folks at that site, but...I'd warn any new guys to take what they read there with a grain of salt.

    Hey John,

It sounds like it's welcome to the club I was reading a thread there about the B&B group buy of a custom brushes where several people were angry with the brush and delivery. I wonder if any of the outspoken are still members of B&B?

At any rate, I shaved with my/our/your 7/8 Friodur red scaled marvel again this morning and had a grand, smooth, close shave, so on a small scale things are swell. In the bigger picture, I guess you're sunk and have to stay tuned in here for all the developments of note - worse things could happen as it seems that among the coterie of frogs, we here are the pondful of princes.

Getting worked up and making sarcastic comments would not be appreciated here either.
Look at the thread, look at how the mods reacted. Apart from the banning, they handled it well.

As for the banning, I cannot comment because I don't know if this was the sole reason or not, and neither does anyone else but John and the B&B team. It that was all there was to it, then it was an overreaction imo.

But let's not turn this into a B&B rag fest.

I haven't participated in any of the forums for a long time. I do have a tendency to get a bit testy when I try to pass on information I have gained and am basically told I am full of it. It never fails and I don't like it and that is why I stopped participating. That and I just didn't have the time. I lost my real job and decided to try again. I believe I am still listed as a moderator on the Yahoo straightrazorplace group and although I never participated for the above reasons was at one time given moderator privileges here too. I have been around a while. I do not overtly hawk my wares except for the link below my signature. I will however defend my product line if attacked especially if I know there is an ulterior motive or in Joel's case...well, enough of that. Although my avitar is gone my participation in several threads is there from last night not just my rebuttle of Joel's evaluation of a Boker.

One thing someone took exception too is my highlighting the text. I do that because it makes it easier for me to read. Is this Internetese for yelling or something?

Generally, highlighting text is done on a portion of a quote where you just want to reply to the highlighted portion but wanted to include the rest of the quote for context or mood.

I would send them an email telling them that you've died and since the ban was for life you would like to have your screen name and/or ip unblocked so that you can post from the grave. Regardless, it doesn't seem that you've been banned here so there doesn't appear to be any loss or damages .
