Thanked: 19Dubl Duck Question
Having been a member here for a few months, I've noticed that it seems like Dubl Ducks are highly valued/prized for both collections and every day use, more so than Wade and Butcher or Genco for example. Is there a particular reason? I know that they are supposedly wonderful shavers(supposedly, because I've never shaved with one), but are they highly valued for another reason, or have I actually, finally, gone crazy . Are they rarer than usual? Do they clean up better? Just a curiosity. Thanks in advance!

Thanked: 346Lynn Abrams likes them, and made this mistake of mentioning this once. Next thing you know everybody had to have one.
After that members mostly learned to keep quiet about their discoveries until they'd stocked up...

Thanked: 13246Lynn's recommendation yes had a lot to do with it, but that wouldn't have lasted this long if it were not for the fact that they IMHO are the most consistent brand out there.... If you get a DD that is in good shape it will hone easily and shave smoothly....

Thanked: 953It's all relative and personal. A Wade & Butcher in good shape is also a wonderful thing. Harder to find those in good shape maybe.....
I only have one DD and it's really nice, but is it better than my cmon, puma, friodur, heljestrand, fillarmonica, wusthof or W&B? No.
I thiink everyone has their own favorite, and their own favorits on different days depending on the mood. So a DD is good thing to have, but it's not the best thing to have - only because there is no best thing to have.
