Thanked: 1Stamping defined
I recently bought a Geneva razor from ebay. It was listed as having the initials SS on the tang near the trademark. However, after reviceiving it I am wondering if those letters stand for stainless steel. Of course after I come up with what I figure to be a brilliant theory, I see another Geneva with the letters OJ stamped on it. I can't come up with a reason these letters would describe the blade material. Maybe I'm way off the mark. Anyone have any insights?

You know, I have one myself, Let me take a look at it when I get home from work and I'll repost. I don't know if I'll be of any help, but it's worth a shot..
OH, and by the way, Be Careful with the OJ Razor, You never know what it might do....We have assumed control !

Thanked: 3164One of the directors was O.J.C. Rose - perhaps initials of designers or founders played a part?

According to uniclectica.com, Geneva cutlery company went out of business in 1935, so the chances that your razor is stainless is pretty small.

I have it on good authority that the"SS" on a Geneva Cutlery blade stands for....
...Super Shaver!
