just got a dovo best and idk man...please help
i just got a razor sent to me (dovo best) and it was said to be sharpened to be shave ready and i dont think it was....maybe it was because my stubles re very coarse i dont know..but i never had a problem using my w&b or boker red injun...this was just painful.
in the past i have had to stop in b/t shaving and re strop the razor, i tried it this time and it worked a little. usually when i shave i make a thick lather, not so much a thin one. maybe that was the problem? i noticed the razor was dragging a lot. it wasnt gliding...
idk
im just waiting for my new hone to come so im gonna hone it again, but has anyone ever had this problem?Last edited by OutlawSkinnyD; 03-16-2009 at 09:11 PM. Reason: forgot to add something

I guess it really depends on where you got it.
If it was store-front here then contact them to be sure it was shipped truely shave ready.
I bought mine at a retail location by me and it was factory sharp, which is not sharp. So I had it honed by gssixgun and it is now really shave ready and wicked sharp. Stropped up it cuts through ATG as smooth as it does WTG.

Thanked: 156If it wasn't advertised as "shave ready" then 99% of the time it isn't. Sellers are normally honest about their wares and if the seller knows its not shave ready, he won't list it as such. If she knows it is, she will list it as such. If the seller has no clue, she will probably say "its sharp."

I know you didn't jump on here wanting to advertise where you got the razor and you were just looking for help and advise, but that being said here is what I think is the right thing to do from here on since it got this far.
1)Drop a PM to Lynn or Don and explain your situation with the "pulling" .
2)I guarantee they will take the razor back and test it's edge.
3)If found to need a "touch-up" these gentlemen will do so and send it back to you making you smile.
4)Then get back on here and tell us how great the shave is now.
These things have a way of taking on a life of their own and it would not be fair to all involved for someone with little or no knowledge of what goes on here to read these post and come up with their own ideas.

Thanked: 156In defense of SRD, we're all human, Lynn & Don can't test shave every razor when shipping out so many. What separates the trusted dealers is the fact that they will go above and beyond what is necessary to correct any problems.
