No I haven't done an oil polish. What type of oil should I use?

I have used plain mineral oil and a soft cloth, with good results. Pipe cleaners work for getting inside the scales. I have heard that neatsfoot oil works too. I polish all my horn, shell and ivory scales occasionally with Carnauba wax, which imparts a nice sheen and smells good too. YMMV
Extreme gentleness is needed with those old scales!
