I know that DOVO and TI claim that their razors are shave-ready from the factory, but since it's etched on the blade, maybe they mean it this time.

It would be nice if when the new guys ask "What is a good first razor?" we could just say "Get a DOVO Ready for Use and a strop and you're set."

I think it's a good looking razor for $55 anyway.

Bought it off eBay for £40 six weeks ago and it's the first razor I turn to. I really don't understand why there is all this fuss over whether or not a razor is 'shave ready' straight out of the box. Apart from anything, you don't know how long it's been in the box, but in any event, you'd normally strop before you shave so maybe I'm missing something.

I put this on a 12000 stone for 100 strokes each side, then 100 up then flip then down and haven't needed to do anything except strop it since then, usually on a towel which is mainly because my stop hangs on the bathroom door and I'm too lazy to walk over there. The towel works fine. This is a heavy razor, much heavier than the 5/8 Dovo I bought 2 weeks ago which is nowhere near as good. I'd recommend this to anyone. Just wish I could find another at that price.
