Sharp&Shiny generously traded a few wedges for some 4/8ths I had. Wedges are interesting. Mine are, thankfully, shave ready. They are also wide. They shave well, but only if you use a very light grip, because they provide no feedback whatsoever. That is, if you hold the razor too tightly, it will cut. Very efficiently, too. Other than that, a wedge is, well, just another razor. I used to subscribe to the notion that stiffer grinds are better for tough beards like mine, but recently found out that this is, well, bollocks. A shave ready razor will shave, no matter the grind. Personally, I tend to like the feedback, both haptic and acoustic, a full hollow gives more, but, as has been stated previously in this thread, this is just a matter of personal taste.

I used to think myself a full hollow kind of man. But then I actually tried a 7/8" smiling blade that was honed properly. Getting the right edge on the wedge makes all the difference in the world. Kudos to Lynn for helping me with that one. I'm a believer in wedges now, they're just so...big! And...beefy! I don't like wedges any smaller though. Those aren't as appealing to me.

I suppose I prefer a hollow but if the edge is silky smooth & shaves close the grind is irrelevant to me.
I suppose I lean towards the middle ground in size be it wedge or hollow.
Don't like smaller than 9/16 or bigger than 7/8. Nothing to do with my beard, just got small hands.

I haven't used a wedge, but my favorite razor by far is my Extra hollow GOTTA 120 hamburg ring from OLD_SCHOOL. That razor just shaves like a dream every time.

I do have a 7/8 full wedge sheffield coming in the mail......

To paraphrase Will Rogers, "I never met a razor grind I didn't like."
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
