Alright, so obviously it is worth me making a trip. I've been trying to contact them. I can't seem to get through... maybe cus of easter weekend? Anyway. As soon as I know I'll pm/post prices and we can work something out to get razors to people, if the price is right etc.

I'd probably just offer them a set amount for everything. There are some NICE razors in there

I know. If I had infinite money I'd buy them all. I still can't get a hold of them... not answering their phone, no reply email, but when I do, I'll probably buy what members have asked for specifically, and what I want, and then anything else I can afford, to be distributed cheaply among members here. I imagine even the worst of those will be good starter razors. Except that one hollow ground frown....
Can I ask that people tell me if they're interested in something, so I can check it's price eventually? I don't have a price list, and I haven't already bought these, so I can't tell you now.

So I got in touch with him and he has some rough prices whihc I hope to bargain when I meet him in person (soon). My buying plan is probably to get myself one or two, and whatever I have money for (in order of interest and quality and sellign those off, then doing a second set order after getting an exact price/quality list, sort of ebay style- sayiing what there is and having people order them then I'll buy them and send em out. And yes, I know all my prices have ?'s its cus I'm not quite sure abotu them a) cus I jotted em down fast adn am remembering and b) it may be possible to bargain. Please please please let me know if they are reasonable, so in case I can't bargain I don't miss a deal anyway.
The W&B/elliot deal I think was 75? dollars for the pair. Is that reasonable? The le Coultres, 30- though I've been pm-ed with interest already. The swede and maher and grosh I believe was in a four razor lot, also containing I believe a reynolds and another wedge (can't see the name in his pic) for 60? dollars... I think it also comes with a case. The reynolds and really early joe smith pair are only 35? and I think for the condition they seem to be in and if they're really that old is a steal. There are I think 5 or 6 big lots (two of which I posted) at around 85 or 90 each where I'd probably buy and keep a couple and sell of the rest at like 15 or 20 plus shipping. There's a nice etched boker (steamship, I actually think its engraved) and etched butler ("keen as this razor's edge invisible" with a pic of shakespeare) going for $80? as a pair. I can't quite remember all of his quotes, but I'm pretty sure these were accurate, and I may be able to bargain him down. Let me know if there's interest and whether these prices are reasonable (ie. if I can't bargain him down, are they still worth it, or is it a no go?)
Btw in the big lots, the razors almost all look reasonable (he says some are shave ready) and include a few spikes, a W&B, a custom with a bone handle (mi germany), a geneva boetticher-koellog with a tree trade mark (early boker imported by geneva? I have actually seen the stamp though), a few rogers's, a razor made in sheffield with a "celebrated somethign razor" etching, sounds like either a W&B or reynolds, a griffon, a reynolds, a henckels, an I X L sheffield, and a lot more american and german and possibly english ones I didn't quite jot down.
Anyway, let me know what y'all think, feedback on brand quality, price-worthiness, buying ideas (the pair lots, or go for two big lots first, etc), interest, general comments etc. would be great.

Well I still want the Joseph Smith I expressed interest in earlier. As for the rest of it it's hard to say. If you want some of them to keep and use than I would say the prices sound good. If you want to sell them I don't know. Even with the photos it is hard to really see them the way you can when they are in your hand. Cracks, chips, warped scales and such. You have to look them over really close. Is he a 'razor guy' ? If not the shave ready might be his opinion. Non razor people think that any straight is 'sharp'.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Just a note- I am no expert, but I will definately run the finger nail test for bevel and HHT, maybe arm shave (crude) test to see how sharp they are. He is not a razor guy, but he is definately good with his history (his antique store=his job; he runs flea markets too, etc.). Seem's well versed in maker's mark etc., just not prices it seems.
And one more point- I am selling these. BUT TO SRP ONLY! and no markup, just what I pay plus shipping and if it's outrageous a few cents for gas (I doubt it, plus I'll be getting a razor out of the trip so I don't mind paying for gas.)

Thanked: 22khaos
I didn't want to chime in before because I'm not in a position to buy right now, but I've got to tell you that $30 for those two Le Coultres is a good deal. If the spare blades for the one on the right are included it's an excellent deal. They're great shavers. Buy them; you wont be sorry.
