Hi,
Welcome!
Judging by the hone wear, i'd say sometime around the 1500's!
There'll be fella's who can assess better along soon, no doubt.

Thanked: 171I'm not good at judging age, but that has to be the most worn out razor I've ever seen!!
If I had to GUESS the age, I would estimate roughly 70-80 years old.
I'm sure others will be able to more accurately give an estimate as to the age, but in any case, it's unfortunately ready for the trash bin (as far as shaving with it goes).Last edited by pjrage; 04-23-2009 at 01:55 PM.

A search of the European and American patent databases did not reveal a maker or time period.

I've done a fair bit of trawling, but can't even find info on when the company existed.
The scales are definitely worth salvaging.

Here is an informative page translated into English:
Britva.Ru - articles - producers - Moutin & Of kirspel
Vlad's moutin with violin scales is pictured on that page as well
According to it the company started in Solingen in 1885 and only used the TASSA brand for its razors
Official website
But there is no connecting information there I can find between Moutin & Kirspel and Mundial
Another note: "Marque Deposee" is French for "Registered Trademark"
Here is another well-worn on ebay - I am guessing these are both early 20th century

Thanked: 234The wear on that is kinda cool. Do you have any desire to use it again? It would be nice if you did.
