Eager Beaver With Cash In Hand....
So to cut to the chase, i got to shave, i cant afford the ridiculous barber prices, and SR's are the only way i dont break out with the most unsightly razor burn.
i have 50 bucks ill spend right now on a good razor, ive read alot, and looked around, and well we all know the razors known for good shaves are all in the 200 dollar range (in new or mint).
Straight Razor GEORGE WOSTENHOLM IXL in Original Box - eBay (item
one im considering, if i can get better shots of the blade. the description readsVintage Civil War Era Straight Razor. Manufactured by GEORGE WOSTENHOLM & SONS, I.X.L. Blade marked: GEORGE WOSTENHOLM & SONS, [CELE]BRATED IXL RAZOR, [WASHING]TON. Handle has brass pins, is worn on edges and ends. Blade is sharp, lettering is worn probably from thumb's grip when used.
the other ive found im considering may be in better shaving condition, i cant see any real problems with it. VINTAGE HAMMOND STRAIGHT RAZOR - eBay (item 300301650467 end time May-18-09 09:38:12 PDT) thats a hammond
the third im considering is BEAUTY & BARBER RAZOR STROP W 5 STRAIGHT EDGE RAZORS SH - eBay (item 110362932226 end time May-10-09 22:29:53 PDT) ... the ultimate ebay special, a strop, 5 new unused no name razors, 3 of the 7/8 size, 1 58 and 1 2/8. i cant really imagine getting a great shave from such incredibly cheap razors, even though i have the skill and patience to get it sharp im sure.
eagerly await any input, im buying a razor tommorrow when i wake , so any info or tips on other ebay finds would be awesome. im in the 50 - 60 $ range right now. iahvent searched ebay uk yet, ill probably have way better luck there

Welcome to SRP!
Short answer; 1)no, 2)no, 3)no
There are quite a few shave ready razors in the classifieds ( link http://straightrazorpalace.com/classifieds ) right now for under $50 that would be a MUCH better start than the ones you're looking at.
Sorry for a short reply, in a hurry & I hope others will chime in.

Sorry to not give you suggestions on a ebay blade, but honestly If your looking for a good shaver, and not a resto project I wouldn't recommend an ebay blade. Given the information and your price range I would recommend looking over the classifieds for the next two or three days and finding yourself a great deal on a shave ready razor there. Otherwise you run the risk of getting a raw deal, and you will likely need to pay 20 bucks to get your ebay blade honed properly (big cut into your budget). Take it for what it's worth
Ok after looking at the ebay listings you posted, I have to edit this.... I would NOT get any of those razors. Especially not the 5 razor set... I don't care how much skill you have, I don't see anyone getting those razors sharp enough to shave. Classifieds for sure. These would all be a waste of money in my opinion. And really, I mean no offense by this, but if that first one was even a contender in your book you REALLY should be looking in the classifieds just to make sure you get a useable razor.Last edited by Del1r1um; 05-03-2009 at 04:20 AM.

Indeed, check the classifieds, you are sure to find something in your price range that will give you some great shaves for many years to come.
Though most razors in the classifieds are "shave ready" out the box... have you thought about a strop to sharpen it before each successive shave?
BTW... after you get the straight, razor you may want to give it to the 0ctopus in your signature graphic, and toss that cartridge.... _Straight Shave And A Haircut, Two Bits!!!!_
