I take back everything I just said.

I have bought from him in the past, and I have kept an eye on his auctions because he frequently has good razors, but I just checked his other listings and he's now also selling this: CUT THROAT antique Chinese meatchopper straight razor - eBay (item 380124387008 end time May-21-09 17:23:19 PDT)

I wouldn't be surprised if his accounts got hacked or something. This is NOT the sort of thing he usually sells.

Steve, in the auction he specifies that he is selling for an estate.

The blue disposable DE razors look scarily like surgery Prep razors.
Would not bid on this, just in case they were used.

I'm tempted to bid on it myself, just to show you guys there's nothing to worry about here. In fact, I think I will pick up his straight razor book, and possibly the honing DVD.

Ultimately I have to agree with norman on this one. I'm a bit put off by the "antique chinese razor" he's selling, but other than that, there's nothing dishonest in any of his ads.

Now, if he put that lot of safety razors up and tried to claim they were all highly collectible and valuable, and started with some ridiculous starting bid, it would be a different story, but that's not the case.

He's got a big pile of crap with a couple of possible gems included, and he's put up an ad that accurately reflect this.

If you take the time to really look closely, there are some real potential keepers in there- note some non-disposable DE's, and some VERY old cartrige razors- some of which look like they could be old, heavy 1 or 2 blade models which, in my estimation, would be a hard-to-find but far superior fast replacement for a Mach 3 or Fusion on those days when you need to look good in a hurry.
