A Wade and Butcher question
For those of you "in the know":
Did Wade and Butcher have any official (or unofficial) company colors they used? I am juggling some ideas for a set of scales .... any help would be nice!
Thank you in advance,
Steve

All of the early razor cases W&B used were black AFAIK but this W&B safety razor box came in red, white and blue. Not sure of the year of mfg.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I have quite a few, most all are completely original from the 1800's. Most of the scales and boxes/coffins were black if I'm not mistaken, I've never seen a red W&B box.

I agree with Zib that most had black scales and black coffins; I think that was a general trend for Sheffield blades. Though there is also some blonde horn and blonde horn dyed to look like tortoise shell too (perhaps more blonde and dyed blonde for non-W&B's).

black was there color. i know this because here are some 'official' shirts that i found NOS while digging through the attic in a 3rd story upstairs apartment in the sheffield district. i was drunk on the sauce and fell through a wall and low and behold tshirts were hidden behind the wall. as if they were calling to me, i snagged the box, ran downstairs(more carefully) and flew home with my bounty. you can see a thread here.
