Yepp. Crown&Sword is one of the brand name used by ERN. Practically all razors stamped with Wald-Solingen are great shavers (unless the blade is ruined - regrinded or something).

About the 1720 -it is osme kind of code of the manufacturing, but definetly not the year of manufacturing. If you find out the material of the scale, and from other things You can find out more or less the year of manufacturing.
At first sight it seems to be around the 1920's but it is a rough estimation!!!

Another great flea market find! Nice score. Once cleaned up it will be a great shaver.

you're all making me feel even better about the Crown and Sword I picked up on ebay a few weeks ago. But on the down side, now I feel even more impatient to get it in the mail.

I have a 1/4, 9/16- 1720 marked ERN....prob a production thing seems common for most razor makers blade (and handle) markings to vary with production thrue the years.

    C. Friedr. Ern used a four digit model number. The razor you were looking at was an Ern model 1720 blade.
