    Default Japanese Razor "Sheath"

Has anyone discovered a good technique to protecting a Japanese razor's edge besides keeping it in the original wooden box? So far my policy has been to keep it there, but I still don't have good feelings about it.

I'm hoping to build either a better fitting box, or some sort of sheath. Maybe like this: Eastern Smooth: The Legend of the Scaleless Razor

    Any ideas?

Yeah, and edge down box would work better. The razor does indeed lay on a counter or inside the wooden box (carefully) without touching anything, but it would still be nice to be able to toss it in a suitcase to travel. Or just in general not to have to worry about it as much.

So far I've had it quite a while without any problems, but since I've finally gotten around to perfecting the bevel on it I don't really want to have to redo it due to a mishap.

Do you have a link for that box? Or did you get it at a shop locally?

I have an old wooden box that came with a couple old japanese razors. The thing kind of swings out and there are slots where the razors go and then it swings back again. I've kept my other's in the wood boxes they came in and have had no issues.
