    C.W. Engels and Engelswerk therefor is the one with the Pilatus Stahl that you have there.
    Those are good shavers.

    F.W.Engles were very good razors with their LEADER being on the same level as a Henckels 415 or a Dubl Duck Gold Edge.

    Unless there was a relation between CW and FW Engels, which there doesn't seem to be, that may not mean anything...

    looking for some info on razor i bought. horn handle has angel holding an (s) , etched in blade is pilatus stahl and stamp on it reads out engelswerk solingen-foche there is no numbers althought there is etched on the back bone of the blade it says (Friday)... looking for some possiable history or general info would be great .... dan

    Pictures? I think we have reasonably determined, if you read through this thread, some of the history. It was made by C.W. Engels, not F.W. Engels, but they may or may not have been related. And I bet they're good shavers.

    C.W. Engels and F.W. Engels - the same company (1909-1943).
    The owner was Emil Engels.
    Located in Solingen and New York City.
    All razors of this company are very good.
