Thanked: 735Actually, I'm on board with you guys here--I only want to have one razor.
Only thing is---it happens to always be the next one!Last edited by Seraphim; 07-01-2009 at 01:33 PM.

Hoffritz was a Chicago cutlery outlet that went belly up about three or four years ago. Their razors were made in Solingen by Dovo or one of the smaller razor manufacturers that still had the capability. They should be very good razors. Hoffritz motto was "Hoffritz For Cutlery".

Formerly Hoffritz for Cutlery, America's Premier Cutlery Merchant for Over 60 Years.
They don't sell straight razors any more.

Thanked: 735Any updates?
OK, so it's been a month since the OP. Still stuck on that razor, or have you moved on to something new?
I will say this: I would probably be content if I had to make due with any one razor that I have in my current rotation.

Well, I must admit, the Hoffritz is still in the little wooden chest where I keep my "rotation", which is usually only three razors at a time. So, it's in the top three. I've also had my DD Dwarf spike point in that wooden chest on an almost permanent basis. So that leaves one spot that's not as fixed as the other two. For the past week or so I have been juggling between a TI Super Gnome and a 4/8 round point Max Mergenbaum razor I bought from Ron aka Utopian about a year ago.
Guilty as charged, the Hoffritz has been on a hiatus of sorts. I know some like to have a large rotation of shave ready razors to choose from and shave with a new one each day or so. I'm not that way; even if I can't really stick literally to ONE razor at this point.

Thanked: 735I came *this* close to getting stuck on a nice little razor I recently aquired, very smooth, and felt great in the hand. I used it for at least a week straight, maybe a bit more. But then I had to try another razor just to see if that first razor really was especially smooth or not.....And just today I took out a razor that I had not used in maybe 6 months--My 13/16 Thumbnotched Worldmaster. I had just thrown on a new set of scales, and had to take it for a spin......nice.
I only have about a dozen razors in my rotation, not a huge collection, but big enough to make it difficult to spend enough time with a single one, and yet get the chance to try another....round and round she goes!
Thanks for the update!

I found that rotating my razors (or not rotating them) was very dependent on how I stored them. When I stored them in a ziplock bag I would usually just grab one off the top three, because it was more hastle to dig deeper. But since I got a razor roll I can make more of a conscious effort to make sure each one gets some game time.
Although I still favour some razors over others. The days I use one of those favoured razors, I have already decided before I go to sleep the night before. Just before I drift off I think **I am going to use my TI in the moring** or **I am going to use my Les++Croix** and go to sleep with a big smile on my face.
I presently only have 7 razors so each razor sees action each week. I don't think I could live with only one razor though.笑う門に福来たる。

I've considered cutting down on the number of razors in my stash, but I've done it before and the number seems to creep back up. I'm like the smoker that just quit for the 6th time.

I had 2 many razors and decided the only way 2 really limit to 10 was to build a display cabinet that could only accomodate 10, which I did (with the help of my friend who is a joiner) last week. Looks great, and as I can see them all simultaneously it makes me think about which one I will use, rather than the basic instinct of using my 'tuna or TI for one day growth or hitting my favourite Sheffield to wipe clean a couple of days growth.
Problem is it fails to kill my RAD and im going insane thinking I should either have made a cabinet to accomodate more; or try and decide which one of my razors to elliminate in order to house a new one.....damn!
