Hello,

I've been an avid straight razor user for a long time now and I just joined up today because I was going through some of my grandfathers old shaving stuff and found something very curious that might possibly be a razor and I need some help identifying what it is. I've included a picture of it:
It is 7.5" Long and the blade width is 1 3/4". It's very damaged and the only lettering I can make out runs at the top of the blade. It reads "SOUT??R? OF MASS, MADE IN U.S.A." Question marks being the letters I cannot identify. Any help anyone can provide me in identifying what this piece is and what company make it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much,
