East Tennessee Hillbilly Boker
OK, This find was yet another antique mall and was in a pile with a bunch of broken razors. It look pretty sad sitting there amongust the dearly departed but for 12 bucks I thought it worth a try. Look close the scales they are quite unique, they are actually one piece and look to be whittled out of a broom or a mop handle. I've spent about 7 Hours this week cleaning, sanding, and polishing and she is coming along nicely. I was looking for scales for this razor but after working on the blade it had a unique look with the wood it had. I will give it a new look down the road but for now I'll leave it like this. I think someone in the past like this razor enough to do what it took to keep it useable. I kinda like the look.
This one's when I got it
Five days later
This finish is thanks to the WIKI such good info there.Last edited by ENUF2; 07-10-2009 at 12:28 AM.

I can't see the pictures. Is there something needed in the settings of your album?

My album was set to private. Did that help?

It works now!
That blade really turned out nice. What does the engraving say? The scales definitely are unique, what did the previous owner use for a spacer?

The blade says Damascus Magnetic Steel. There is no spacer in the scales it was whittled out of a single piece. I put a small screw in it because it was ready to crack.

Nice antique shop find!! I found a Red Injin with similar scales and a great blade. Good luck with her. I can read enough about these antiwue shop finds and my RAD is going wild!!

Thanked: 22I've got a Boker "Diamond" with home-made, wooden, one-piece scales. I bought it in a second hand shop for $10. Not as pretty a blade as that but a good shaver.
Nice find.

Good job on the cleanup. I really like the point. My number one W&B is sent to Max and my #2 is all shined up & ready for scales. Maybe I can get to that today. Looks like rain today.
