yes back in the 60s razor cuts were a big thing and the barbers used the smaller straights to do the work and charged more for it to.

    Default Great shavers

I never saw a wedge Filly so yu may have a rare specimen!

If the steel is as good as the steel Filarmonica used for razors I bet it will be a good shaver as welll. The wedge shape will add some weight to the 4/8 blade which is an additional advantage.

Enjoy it and keep us posted.
    Hi, Kees,
You are right. I asked wiser shavers and all of them told me that these beauties can be used for face shaving.
I own a pair, red and white ones. NOS. The red one is still in its clsed bag. Both of them feature the original protective oil layer. They are made of stainless steel and ice forged.
Mines are even rarer due to its rubber holder and engraved blade.
    Sweet.
    Regards.

Yeah you can shave with these, it's just a regular razor but small, usually about 4/8.

Using a straight razor for a haircut is very common in Spain, or at least it was until the late 90s, when I lived there.

In your town. Right next to the Sabatini gardens. Great place – I miss it very much.

I used to get my hair cut at the Corte Ingles. The haircuts were kind of a bravura act – a little straight razor fluttering around your head like a hummingbird, and the whole thing finished in less than five minutes.

    Default Filarmonicas for Hair Cutting

    Gentlemen,

As I recall, and as several others have mentioned here, getting a razor cut was a big deal some years ago. Barbers even used regular straight razors, some of which may have been Filarmonicas.

I myself had the luxury of many razor cuts.

Then again, I am glad razor cuts went out of style. Because I don't need them anymore. Because I have no hair. Because I miss enough things from my youth, so why add more to the list?

    Regards,
    Obie
