    Good eye manah. I had missed those cracks. I think it's safe to say that finding a replacement blade or having one fabricated are the only options. As beautiful as those scales are, it would be a shame not to.

    Ah allright! Thats a point.
    I have a 9/16" with a worked spine in a similar pattern.
    I'm afraid its too small for your purposes though.
    No big maker either.

    would it be possible to turn it into a frameback? keep the spine, mill a slot in it and fit a blade to it?

    There's was a local antique store (about 40 min from my home) that has a 6/8" or bigger Solingen razor with similar/same spine work. It wasn't a Wacker either.

    Too bad that was about 3 months ago, it might not be there any more.
