So the bluing is definitely staying. Now... original scale fix up or rescale I have to decide. I'll try and get better pics of the situation. I'm really hoping that it will be an outstanding shaver. She'll take my hones' virginity. And at $10 I can't believe no one else bid...

lol. Naniwa SS 1k 3k 5k on the way from SRD. Then I have a couple of Swaty 3-lines, which I can't justify and will probably sell one, I have a vintage Thury 5x1, and a J-nat (Nakayama) 10x2.5. Oh. And a Norton combo stone, I believe its grit ratings are 10 and 20. Yeah, my lawn mower blades are shave ready lol.

In order to prepare for this post, get a mental picture of Gollum from LOTR. Now imagine me with this razor. I looked it over more and there's only a touch of water staining. The bevel seems to have some tarnish, but *crossing fingers* it should hone out based on what happened with my french razor. It's not pitting. The bluing is a little dirty though, and for obvious reasons I can't maas it. Will water and soap be okay?

Yep. That's the best way to start. An old tooth brush would help. Go gently.

My guess is the wedge is just loose and you can move it back into position, but thats just a guess.

Bresnick made so many models of razors new ones keep popping up. each time I think I know them all another comes up like yours.

I also have blued razors with only the neck and tang blued, the entire blade just bare metal.

Does the say Germany or Solingen or have an marks on it like a rooster maybe?

Sorry I can't photo it properly. Laptop webcam doesn't have a focus change thing and the hammered/blued tang doesn't help. Display side (side that would say Special #1 or Goldedge etc) reads:
Original (in cursive, only C is capitalized)
SUPREJ (Block capitals, spelled exactly that way)

Obverse side (side that would say pearlduck with the arch) reads:
    BRESNICK
    SOLINGEN-GERMANY
(both lines all caps, hyphen is included on the razor)

Leave the remaining blueing. Maybe it rubbed of the spine? Nice catch.
