That yellow stone has cleave patterns identical to a stone that Hi_Bud_GL aka Sham has. Some of us believe his stone is a Hindostan novaculite stone which was once mined in the Indiana state area. From the literature I've read it was known to be a respectable (others such as the coticule, Turkey stone, Michigan stone were superior) whetstone for razors.

I was a bit bumped out that the pictures in here are gone so I tried the URL in the WayBackMachine at archive.org but aparently it wasn't stored (over 2000 other threads in the razor catagorie are stored) so I was wondering: has the structure of this forum changed over time?
is there a tric to reconstruct topic names into old URLs? (in order to look up the archived pages, posibly with the pictures)
