I was talking to John just a few days ago. Herr Wacker finally gave in and let him split the sets. The round point silver steel 6/8 wedge is unbelievable. I got the wedge and Spanish point 1/4 hollow set a few months ago. Wonderful set of razors and among my favorites. The wedge is out of this world. I have around 5 various Wacker razors and they all shave wonderfully. I beleave he said he only had 4 or 5 of each so they may not last long

Hmmmm...I'm opretty sure these razors have been available individually on Wacker's site for at least two months...It was back in July that I was considering buying one of these. I remember the price from then.

    Default Wacker, My Sweet

    My dear Stuart,

With only seven straight razors (plus two with replaceable blades in addition to three DE's), my collection is miniature compared to the museums some of our colleagues on the SRP site have. As for photos, the last time I tried to upload a photo of my converted pipe rack into a razor stand, even after all the instructions from the SRP experts, I almost blew up my computer.

I am working on my second novel. The thought of blowing this computing machine thingie and my novel along with it freaked me out and I stopped my adventure with uploading, unloading, or whatever . . .

    Here is what I have:
Thiers-Issard Flying Tudor Rose 5/8" Snakewood scales.
Thiers-Issard 5/8" with black horn scales
    Thiers-Issard 5/8" with Kingwood scales
All three can be viewed on the Classicshaving.com site.

    Dovo 6/8" Renaissance
    Boker 5/8" Edelweise
Both are on the SRD site.

    Dovo 5/8" with Pearlex scales
    At Vintageblades.com

Wacker 6/8" "Antik" with blond bones scales
    On the Shavingingshop site.

It's not a presidential collection, but it serves me well. Although I have remained at age 27 for several decades now, had I been 26, perhaps I would have created my own straight razor museum.

Stay well. You live in London, one of my most favorite cities in the world. I have walked its streets many times. What a glorious city. A long time ago, I even stumbled into the Taylor of Old Bond Street shop on, I believe, Jermyn Street — and went nuts.

    Regards,

    Obie

    Hi Obie,

I can understand the concern there..! I am always keen to see other peoples collections, as much out of curiosity as enabling my own aquisition disorder!

That is a beautiful collection of razors you have! I am slowly building my collection up at the moment. I have a DOVO Black Star and a Bismarck and I am looking to get a Thiers Issard or Wacker next. I have also heard good things about the Boker Edelweisse. Ah, too many razors and not enough money!

Thank you for the kind wishes! I do live in London and I very much enjoy the hustle and bustle we have. There does seem to be something for everyone here, from the theatres in the West End, to SoHo and the music venues in Camden.

I know Jermyn Street very well, I live not far away. Trumpers is also based there and they do a fantastic collection of soaps and creams as well as razors and strops. They also have a fantastic barbers downstairs which I cannot recommend highly enough! Taylors of Old Bond Street is another favourite shop of mine, though I am yet to try their soaps. There is also Rowleys Restaurant on the same street and they do a fantastic steak and a good bottle of red wine. When you are next over in London please drop me a line as my door is always open and you are most welcome.

    All the best,

    Stuart

    Default Wacker, My Sweet

    My dear Stuart,

Thank you for the invitation when I next visit London. You never know when that will be — but you never know. I will definitely inform you. I can foresee a good conversation over coffee at Nero's. I've had many a coffee at Nero coffee shops while resting my weary bones after all day of walking. I assume those coffee shops are still there.

    Stay well.

    Regards,

    Obie

If you are looking for one, there is one listed on eBay, 7/8 barber notch Rasiermesser. Heck of a nice razor. I may toss in a bid for it but I have a Chandler in the pipe so I have to watch the coin.
